Muusic Coin Masternode Setup Guide

Muusic Coin Masternode Setup Text Guide

*REQUIREMENTS*

1) Desktop GUI wallet on Windows / MAC / Linux

2) Virtual Private Server (VPS) (I like Vultr.com)

3) 5001 MUU for collateral and to cover the transaction fee

STEP 1: LOCAL wallet setup and masternode collateral

Download your desktop wallet depending on your LOCAL operating system

WINDOWS: https://github.com/muusic/muusic/releases/download/v1.0.0/Muusic-Win64.zip
LINUX: https://github.com/muusic/muusic/releases/download/v1.0.0/Muusic-Linux-GUI.tar.gz
MAC: https://github.com/muusic/muusic/releases/download/v1.0.0/Muusic-Mac-Mojave.zip

Run the wallet and allow it to sync

You can see on explorer what the current block is: https://explorer.muusic.co.in

In your wallet go to File and select Receiving addresses
Make a new wallet and call it    mn1
Copy the address that it gives and save for your collateral
Send exactly 5000 MUU to that address you saved

Click Tools on top menu and select Debug Console and select Console Tab
Type the following commands into the console and save the outputs
masternode genkey    (see something like 5JpDj83CZVh9xqPGsQFpkzTzssZFdEJBLamvMwFsrdfwGB89njW)
masternode outputs   (see txid and index)
save both of the above

STEP 2: Obtain VPS

Go to VPS hosting site and rent a VPS that meets these specifications or better (Vultr.com $3.50/Mo)

20 GB SSD
1 CPU
512MB Memory
500GB Bandwidth
IPv4

OS: Ubuntu 16.04
Location: Anywhere you want
**FIREWALL: add firewall rules to only allow TCP 32121 and TCP 22 from the Vultr Control Panel

STEP 3: Connect to your VPS

Download your favorite SSH software (Putty / Termius)
Connect to your VPS using the username & password & IP your on Vultr Control Panel

STEP 4: Create non-root user

In your terminal type the following commands:

useradd SOME-USERNAME
usermod -aG sudo SOME-USERNAME

su SOME-USERNAME

STEP 5: Download Muusic Coin and Sync with chain on VPS

In your terminal type the following commands:

cd
wget https://github.com/muusic/muusic/releases/download/v1.0.0/Muusic-Linux-GUI.tar.gz
tar -xvf Muusic-Linux-GUI.tar.gz
mkdir .muusic
nano .muusic/muusic.conf

enter the following lines into this file

daemon=1
masternode=1
masternodeprivkey=THIS IS THE MASTERNODE GENKEY FROM STEP 1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcuser=MAKE-EVERY-UNIQUE
rpcpassword=MAKE-VERY-UNIQUE-AND-LONG

control+x then y then enter to save and exit nano

Now we need to need to run our daemon so in terminal type
./muusicd
you should see ‘starting’

Syncing can take time depending on how long the chain has been alive
./muusic-cli getinfo
this will give you block number and other information about your connection
*Again it will take 3-5 mins to gain connections and start to sync up the chain

STEP 5: On your LOCAL wallet now add your masternode

Select Tools on Menu Bar and choose Open Masternode Configuration File

Add the following line of information

mn1 IP-OF-VPS:32121 GENKEY TXID INDEX

it will look something like this when done

mn1 178.34.3.12:32121 5JpDj83CZVh9xqPGsQFpkzTzssZFdEJBLamvMwFsrdfwGB89njW long-txid 1

Save and close

Now restart your wallet

STEP 6: Starting your masternode

Once LOCAL wallet is opened back up and fully synced AND your VPS is fully synced (./muusic-cli getinfo)
Go back into Tools then Debug Console then Console Tab and type

startmasternode alias false mn1

you should see output of SUCCESSFUL

STEP 7: FINAL STEP – make sure that your masternode is running on VPS

On your VPS in terminal type

./muusic-cli masternode status

You should see output showing successfully running
